WHAT WE STAND BY..

We believe in the idea of equality, fairness and opportunity, regardless of race, creed, color, culture or ethnicity. Sigma Lambda Beta's mission is to nurture and further a dynamic, values-based environment that utilizes our historically Latino-based fraternity as a catalyst to better serve the needs and wants of all people. For this to happen, the men of the Sigma Delta Chapter, along with all members of this Fraternity, do their best to showcase these behaviors and comport themselves as honorable men.

Brotherhood

We form lifelong bonds; it's for life, not some 4 year club. We know that we can count on each other in any situation thick or thin. Whether it's having fun, helping a brother in need, or holding each other accountable, this is what keeps our organization so strong. If that still isn't enough, we have a whole F.I.R.M. Family, too. The support system that forms when you pledge this Fraternity is like none other.

Scholarship

We recognize that we are nothing without our education. We all strive to make positive impacts when it comes to performance in the classroom and constantly remind ourselves that we come to college for our degree, FIRST. Many brothers in this Fraternity have achieved numerous Honor Societies and other accolades including the FGCU Hall of Fame because of their dedication to this pillar.

Cultural
Awareness

While we may be historically Latino, we are anything but Latino-exclusive. Sigma Lambda Beta welcomes all cultures from all over the world to be a part of this Brotherhood. Our chapter represents over a dozen different cultural backgrounds alone and is aiming for more. On this campus, we have held events that put emphasis on heritage, appreciation, and education, such as "Dia de los Muertos" and "Diwali".

Community
Service

Giving back to the community is without a doubt one of the main goals we try to accomplish within this Fraternity. In the past, we have done awareness walks for Pancreatic Cancer, built houses with Habitat For Humanity, and even gone on FGCU TLE's Alternative Break Program. Our most successful community service event is "Betas Save Christmas", where we dedicate the month of December to wrapping clothes, shoes and toys for Lee and Collier County elementary school children, then personally hand-deliver the gifts to them.
