My name is Marvin Turcios-Gonzalez, I am Nicaraguan and I am currently a Junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I plan to one day become a doctor and start my own private practice or work with patients that suffer from mental illness. Being a very family-oriented young man, I wanted to find a home away from home. When football was no longer an option for me after playing for 7 years, I was seeking something different and something else to love and get involved in. Honestly, I never considered to go down the path of Greek life, until I met the Betas here at Florida Gulf Coast University. Long story short, I wouldn’t trade my decision of becoming a brother of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated for anything in the world. Everything about the fraternity exceeded expectations and enhanced the man I am today. Through my education, I grew to love the brothers, the fraternity itself, and everything else. I currently hold a executive position here at my chapter. The sky is the limit for me, and I am dedicated to contribute as much as I can to help my chapter grow and maintain our sense of excellence

I am a biology major at Florida Gulf Coast University. I have aspirations on becoming a nephrologist. I pledged SLB because I wanted a fraternity that would make me feel welcomed and that would always strive for academic excellence. SLB is very diverse as well, which got my attention too. Being a Beta, I've been able to meet brothers of different nationalities and establish a bond of brotherhood that cannot be broken. Scholarship is very important to my education and with SLB, we excel in academics to make sure we have the highest GPA.
