While going through the process I always chose to be more optimistic, rather than let what was happening get to me. Everything we do has a purpose from the urgency, the time management. Looking back, I can see how we were pretty much just acting “Life”. In life, on some occasions, doing the work just good enough will get you by. But, a majority of the time you get fired. All these small aspects are areas where I knew I was weak in. I knew pledging Sigma Lambda Beta would help me get past these issues. I have been around Sigma Lambda Beta since my freshman year of college. I heard and saw how it changed individuals. Knowing myself, I knew this organization would help me work on my flaws and live up to my potential. Now that I’m done, I’m glad to see my original perception of this organization was indeed correct. I can say I use what learned throughout the process everyday and couldn’t happier about how everything went.

What drew me to pledge Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Incorporated was their brotherhood pillar. I wanted to find that nitch that would make me feel as if I was at home. After hanging out with the brothers of SLB, I knew they would help me out with that. Community service is also something I am very fond of and SLB definitely takes community service hours seriously, just as I do. Sigma Lambda Beta has shown me that I can do more than what I have already set myself up to do. The brothers are always pushing me not only just academically, but physically and emotionally, as well. They are always there for me when I am in need. Becoming part of Greek life, specifically a multicultural part of Greek life, has opened new doors to new horizons. Since joining SLB, I have had the opportunity to meet new goals, as well as set new ones every day.

I took the steps into joining Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Incorporated because the brothers of the Sigma Delta Chapter of Florida Gulf Coast University made me feel at home. It was as if I was with my own family. They comport themselves in a professional manner that makes anyone want to step their game up. As I was introduced into Greek life by my sister, I realized how important the pillars of a Fraternity are. The pillar of cultural awareness attracted me most to Sigma Lambda Beta. I feel as if I am able to express myself in any way I please, as well as take strides into learning who exactly I am. Throughout the process of becoming a brother, I learned what my strengths and weakness are and what I can do to tackle my weaknesses and turn them into strengths.
